We founded Nanbar Health in 2022 with the goal of creating a patient-centered mobile health platform for remote-monitoring and advanced data analytics that reduced socioeconomic barriers to healthcare and helped patients better communicate their health journey to their doctors.

We have partnered with clinical researchers to use our platform in various areas of healthcare research, including sickle cell disease, cancer, blood and marrow transplants, geriatrics, and chronic pain. Currently, we are working to use machine learning to predict an individual's future pain based on their current vital signs.

Painimation

Painimation is a pain assessment tool designed to help patients better communicate and understand their pain, as well as provide clinicians with the information they need to accurately diagnose and treat pain symptoms, through the use of interactive survey features and customizable pain animations.
 

On this project, I worked on frontend development and UI design.

QuestExplore & Symptom Networks

  • Publication

QuestExplore was an iOS app, built in collaboration with the Duke School of Medicine, with the goal of increasing study engagement and comprehension for pediatric patients with chronic illnesses through "gamification" and inventive survey designs. 

We then partnered with researchers to use the collected data to build symptom network graphs, allowing us to analyze the correlations between patient mood & symptoms.

Adventure Squad

Adventure Squad was an augmented reality (AR) mobile app developed as a collaboration between UNC faculty, the Carolina AR/VR Club, and the UNC School of Medicine to help encourage hospitalized pediatric patients to stay active and mobile during their treatments. The app allowed pediatric patients at the UNC Children’s Cancer Hospital to interact with AR “clues” throughout the hospital, aiming to encourage movement, spark curiosity, and create a fun, interactive experience for children during hospitalization.

Motivation

As a project for COMP523, we were partnered with two UI/UX designers and were tasked with bringing their creation to life. They had designed a prototype for a mobile app that allowed users to track their habits & goals with friends. Over the semester, we developed their design using React Native and Firebase.
