Imagine if there were a way to fully describe the quality and intensity of your pain. You could finally be confident that your clinicians understand what your pain feels like.
Painimation uses a highly visual, abstract, and expressive mode of pain communication—pain animations (painimations). Painimation help patients to communicate a more complete view of their pain experience, and care providers better understand their patients' pain, all while transcending language and other communication barriers.
Painimation was the first project I worked on as an intern for the healthcare technology startup, SickleSoft Inc. I was still a junior in college at the time, so I was only trusted with a few small tasks here and there until I had proved that I wouldn't break stuff (or at least that I could fix what I broke 😅). After a couple of months, I secured my first real developer contract (!) and was allowed to "go ham", overhauling Painimation's web app design and creating more complex survey modules.
